Hi! My name is Gianpiero Ramos, but I go by my middle name, Said. I am an Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Student at California State University, Los Angeles.
There were multiple reasons why I chose Electrical Engineering as my major, but the main reason was because it's one step forward towards having a master's degree in Robotics. Since I was a little kid, I started to develop an interest in how electronics work. This was followed by an interest in disassembling and reassembling my tiny remote-control cars. Then, in my first year of high school, I took an Arduino workshop, which also included the assembling part of a little robot; since that day, I decided that Robotics was what I wanted to do for a living. In the future, I want to work for NASA and help develop new stuff that could potentially help in space exploration.
Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Soldering
- Correct handling of various work tools.
Repair Experience: I've worked as a handyman's assistant for two years. This taught me how to fix a number of things, such as a sink pipe, a hole in a wall, an electric plug and its internal cables, etc.
Groups:
I have been part of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) since the spring semester of my freshman year. This year, I am helping to make and code a drift mobile. This is helping me to relearn how to code in Arduino, and it is also giving me hands-on experience in my field.
