Hi Dan, Thanks. I always run the current software on all of my devices, always. My solution (as noted above) was actually the solution all along - it just took over a year to find somebody at Apple Support to know it. Once I unchecked that box (noted in my previous response) everything worked extremely well - Firefox, Safari, jetpack connection either connected or disconnected - I never lost my tabs/pages again. A simple fix but took going through LOTS of Apple Support people to find the answer (many of them were stumped and could not help me). I have since moved onto the 2021 MBP M1 Pro chip (14") and still have those same settings fix with no problems using the jetpack. All of my FF/Safari pages remain in tact whether I am connected or disconnected to Wifi (via jetpack). The power of the (un)checked box.
Meer informatieThe reason my (previously owned) 2020 MBP (M1) was disconnecting - it was a simple fix actually. I finally found somebody at Apple Support who knew what they were talking about - it only took me over a year to solve this problem (seriously), so I guess I won the Apple Support lottery. She knew the simple fix; she knew what she was talking about (after a year plus of frustration). The fix is go to: System Preferences / Security & Privacy / Privacy tab / "Click the lock to make changes" (bottom left) / Click "Advanced" (bottom right) / uncheck "Log out after xx minutes of inactivity" / Click "Okay" / Lock the padlock to secure changes. By making these changes you will prevent your 2020 MBP (M1) from disconnecting and closing out tabs you have opened within your browser(s) - ie., Safari, Firefox, etc. Good luck and happy fixing.
Meer informatieAfter some searching, I found that by “resetting the Mac printing system” solved, at least, the problem with my HP Laser Jet p1505n printer. I found this info. on Apple Support page entitled, “Resetting the Mac Printing System to Solve a Problem”. I took the following steps (from Apple’s webpage): (1) On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. (2) Press and hold the Control key as you click in the list on the left, then choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appears. (3) After you reset the printing system, the list of printers in Printers & Scanners preferences is empty. (4) Re-add any printers. I then plugged in the printer, connected via USB cable and I was able to print. I didn’t need to actually re-add any (my) printer(s) as the OS system (I believe) recognised my current HP printer. This is really great as I asked and explained my printer situation to 4 individuals (separately) at a very well known big box electronics store and they all told me...
Meer informatieHi Molly, I also have a mid-2010 13-inch MBP (MacBookPro 7,1 / 2.44 GHz). I recently replaced the HDD to a 500 gb SSD, upgraded the RAM from the original specs to 16 gb (2x8gb) - but you do need to be running macOS High Sierra in order to upgrade to 16 gb of RAM (I’m at the last OS of High Sierra 10.13.6 for my 2010 MBP). When researching the RAM upgrade, I did notice a lot of yea/nays but the 16gb worked for me. I installed a new battery as well and get much more than 3 hours of life. Possibly the battery is faulty? I haven’t tracked the battery life (yet) but it’s supposed to get near 10 hours. We’ll see. Running similar apps to what you mentioned. WRT to wifi - the only info. I can relay is that I did a “reset” (hit the reset button) on the tower/modem (that was per the phone company) as I had a similar issue. If the reset doesn’t work, then you *may* need to replace/upgrade tower.
Meer informatieDan and Dave - thank you both for your earlier replies/comments. I ended up doing an upgrade as I suspected that my original HDD was failing. In the end I upgraded to 16gb (2x8gb) of RAM, 500gb SSD and a new battery.

Replaced 2 of these (3 years apart) on driver’s side. I love these tutorials! Thanks for your help! Also replaced the external handle on driver’s side - a little trickier but doable (and best done in a heated garage and not outside in February weather).
