This post is old and maybe most of you already found this but can still be useful since I see recent replys and it is the first Google Search hit. I am sure there are still plenty of people that encounter this issue. I work in a company that works with refurbished devices. I think I have seen 100+ devices with this issue. It is variating between MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMacs 2015 and lower. I can confirm that this issue has not been solved even with MacOS 11.2.1 which had a USB update. But if you use Windows on your Mac, everything works fine. The command Craig Clifford has posted solves this issue but on reboot you have to enter it again. I have automated this command creating/using the following Apple Script: I inserted this script in ‘Automator’ as a terminal script and added it as startup script.
