From your model number, a google search brought me here to find the washer basket part number that fits your washer, and then another google search of that part number brought me here which reports a capacity of 3.2 ft^3 for a different washer that uses the same basket. It's probably about the same.

Was that other battery you tested known to work in another phone? If not the problem may be with each battery's on-board Battery Protection Board, not your phone. Try a new battery or a known working one, hopefully that will fix it.
