I would check to make sure a solder bridge did not get formed during soldering. Some of those components are really close together. I know when I did the job, a bridge did occur, but I got it cleaned up on the bench, so I didn't have a problem after re-installing the clock. I now have to use a lighted magnifying glass to insure I get the soldering done correctly.
My clock was fading in and out, then it was off for quite a few days. I was looking for info on replacing it when I came across this post. It only took me about 20 minutes start to finish, and it solved the issue. One thing to note, you may have to take the car out of park to the dashboard panel out and back in. Make sure to engage the parking brake first!
