If you cars engine does not stay running a look at the fuel lines wouldn't hurt. Check the oil as well, if it smells burnt try an oil change. If you still cant find the problem call your local mechanic, or have a car-savy friend take a look for you.

He may have dropped it and didn't tell anyone because he doesn't want to get in trouble. I would suggest taking it to the apple store and have them look at it, It could have a cracked LCD panel leading to mix of color on the screen, resulting in no image at all.
