Mijn probleem

The lower microphone broke and no one could hear me during voice calls. Phone worked with speakerphone or headphones but not during regular phone calls. Voice recorder App also did not work anymore.

Mijn oplossing

Replaced Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack Assembly. The repair was perfect. The part arrived quickly and in a nice package. Everything fit exactly like the original part. Parts even had new sticky tape where appropriate.

Mijn advies

Some of the steps where unnecessary. I did not remove the Battery (steps 13 & 14) or the Logic board (steps 16-19, 23-27). The part came out fine without performing these steps. Missing from the guide were four wave washers that sit below the assembly at the orange and green screw locations in step 28. They look like they provide grounding for the Lightning Connector, between the aluminum case and the PCB. Hardest part was reconnecting the screen cables (step 8 in reverse) after the repair was complete.

I would add Microphone to the part description of this assembly. Site says, "Lightning Connector, headphone jack and cellular antenna for your iPhone 5." No mention of microphone.
