Mijn probleem
My mother-in-law dropped her phone. She was eligible for an upgrade. I saw this as an opportunity to fix something. Something that I've never done. Something that was intimidating for me, the college philosophy major drop-out. I Hadn't done any repair that was that detailed, tedious, or that could go wrong. This was a puzzle that I wanted to solve.
Mijn oplossing
I am a neophyte at best when it comes to electronics repair. This repair was very challenging to me. At one point I dropped one of the 1.5 mm screws and spent about 10 minutes searching. I nearly crimped an important the cable on reassembly, and had a very difficult time with one of the screws going back to its home. Without iFixit I would not have been able to even begin this project.
Mijn advies
Don't give up. Carefully plan out the process beforehand. Use a well lit space. Patience is paramount to success. There were several points that I was so frustrated that I nearly gave up due to my personality, but that made final success that much more awesome.
