10 - 30 minuten
The battery life on my iPhone 4S was inconsistent and rather uncooperative as the phone would turn off randomly and need to be charged or come back on whenever - the back of the phone would get very warm. The battery, as it declined was expanding so the glass on both sides of the phone was being pushed out and away from the screen causing problems there as well.
The Repair was very simple - took no more than 15 minutes. Removed the back of the phone and sure enough that battery was in poor shape (not holding a normal thin shape, as it was supposed to) - it was ripply and awkward looking. Followed the directions as posted on the website (ifixit.com) and WAH-LAHH - put it all back together! The glass was all in place and the phone holds a great charge! Redeemed!
Listen, this was really a great thing. I was told after asking a few places (Apple Store, Verizon), that I would need to pay $200 or more for a replacement phone - seeing as how the prior issue (hardware failure), and this was a manufacturer defect, I wasn't so interested in spend that sort of money knowing that I had not impaired my own phone, ~$25 to fix it? Um, yes. Also! I really like the iPhone 4S, it was totally worth redeeming, and ifixit made it IDEAL! #winning
