Replacing fans in MacBook Pro A1261

The right fan had become very loud.

Mijn oplossing

I first tried to just clean the fan blades, as others on the web have noted. But the blades are fragile and I managed to break one off while cleaning. Even though I was being quite careful.

So I bought a new fan. I decided to replace both fans as both were dirty, and they are years old at this point.

Mijn advies

Removing the fan from the sticky tape feels tricky. But if you just go slow, no problem. It would be good to add that step to the guides. How to separate the fan from the tape, and then a photo of them apart.
