Mijn oplossing
Three iPhone 5 battery replacements in a weekend, all went very well. My phone which I worked on first, was of course the most difficult as I was trying to figure out how to get the screen off, but once I figured it out the other 2 phones took maybe 10 minutes each.
Mijn advies
Just a light tug on the suction cup is all you need. A small slot will appear in the corner by the headphone jack that you can then get the spudger tool inside. Also use firm, constant pulling pressure on the battery pull tab. None of the tabs ripped in my repairs, and I did not have to pry the batteries at all.
I also would NOT recommend removing the display. I was easily able to hold the display up with my left hand, while removing the battery screws and connector, and pulling on the tab with my right hand.
All in all a very easy and quick repair. The screws are the smallest I have ever seen in my life, but thankfully the iFixit.com tools are lightly magnetized which was a big help.
