LCD Panel Replacement

Mijn probleem

At the end of the summer, a 1" vertical stripe of smaller horizontal, flickering, inverted stripes appeared on my MacBook screen. It was annoying, and prevented any kind of full screen use.

Mijn oplossing

I ordered a new LCD panel, the appropriate screwdrivers and the spudger from iFixit. I recommend ordering the suction cup from iFixit, because I forgot about that and had to go find mine at Home Depot—and almost didn't get one. Also, unless you personally know someone with a heat gun, I'd recommend looking to them for one of those, too.

During the repair, just take your time. Read the directions all the way through before you get started. We also watched this video while reading the iFixit guide, and together they were wonderful help: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/manual.php...

Mijn advies

There is a note saying the adhesive might pop your iSight/Bluetooth cable out of place—it did, so be careful to check and make sure it's still in place before resealing everything. I had to take my glass back off again after reassembling everything. (However, because I didn't have to reconnect anything inside the laptop, we just took the glass back off without removing the display completely.)
