After about a year and a half, my iPhone 5 battery was acting erratically. Often, it would shutoff with 30% battery left. A charge was no longer getting me through an entire day.
The repair went very smooth. It only took ~20 minutes and the only time I needed another set of hands was during reassembly. It was difficult to get those tiny screws in place and hold the screen up at 90 degrees.
The guide was great. The instructions and pictures were very detailed. Getting the battery out was a bit hairy, but using the three pry points the guide recommends worked.
Using the suction cup on the screen, I expected it to slowly come loose. However, my screen popped off, even though I was giving it steady pressure. Luckily, I was holding the phone in such a way that there was no way I could have yanked the screen so far off that I ripped the cables out. So be careful with that step.
So far after a few days, the new battery replacement has my phone behaving like it was brand new again. If you find yourself with a phone that shuts off even though it still said it had plenty of juice left, replace your worn battery.
