Mijn probleem
The OEM battery was dying after only 1.5 years. As many of you have read, the software updates and/or faulty batteries had something to do with this. My theory is that it might be due to using an aftermarket charging cable... Anyhow, not being able to get through a day on my iPhone 5 was unacceptable, so I decided to do a battery replacement.
Mijn oplossing
Let me tell you, ifixit saved me and the delivery was super fast. I was able to replace in about 15 minutes. It helped watching the video ahead of time.
Mijn advies
The only word of caution is when pulling up on the screen with the suction cup, don't pull too hard. I read somewhere it was difficult to separate, so I pulled a little harder and almost ripped out the connections. Luckily that didn't happen. Just ease it up slowly (easier said than done). Also, the screws are really small, so a pair of needle nose tweezers will help - i ended up losing one, but was able to secure everything back down (at least that's what I'm hoping for ;-)). Very simple and highly recommend doing it yourself instead of taking it to the Apple store. Besides, it gave me a chance to take a personal look inside the iPhone. Nice job ifixit!
