Mijn probleem

I bought this 20gb 4th gen iPod off eBay and love it, but the original battery has clearly been put to good use. After 2 hours of playback, the battery was already at or below 50% charge. Me being a music lover who takes his iPod literally everywhere, that was not ideal.

Mijn oplossing

The repair went OK. I used the guide supplied here. Only thing that annoyed me was getting the front plate off with the supplied, blue wedging tools. The plastic wore off quickly and was almost impossible to do it. I winded up using the flathead screw driver that came in the kit to hold a gap in the casing while going around the iPod with a wedger.that worked a lot better. Speaking of the flat head, in the guide it says to use it to unscrew the 2 logic board screws but it was too big. I had to use one of my own glasses screw drivers to unsrew them. But after all that, I got the battery installed and it lasts me all day. I'm very happy :)

Mijn advies

If you have the same problem of the supplied wedgers getting worn from prying the face place off, then carefully wedge the supplied flat head screw driver between the front and back plate to great a gap, then go around the iPod with the blue wedged. It will make it a lot easier.
