iFixit to the rescue :)

Mijn probleem

I am a DIY girl so when my battery died I went to the apple store to get a part. I learned they don't sell parts to people instead they said I could wait 45 minutes for them to replace the battery. Forget that! I left went home and griped about my phone and the Genius Bar on Facebook. A friend private messaged me about iFixit. While he was telling me his experience I pulled up a second window and started looking at the website. Before our message exchange was done, I had a ordered my battery.

Mijn oplossing

Less than 45 minutes. I really think less than 8 minutes to be honest. Once I received my kit and looked at the online video a couple of times, I was able to replace my battery and text everyone that I was back.

Mijn advies

I tell people something I have always been told and that is don't be afraid of technology. Moving parts wear down and when they do I have the power and knowledge to replace them. Corporate service is more an inservice- it is an expensive distraction. The best service is self service. Plus it feels good to do something with my hands. Thank you iFixit for helping me put the power back in my hands.
