Macbook Pro Hard Drive Replacement

My 2009 13" macbook pro started freezing up on me every hour or so starting about 2 years ago. After going to the apple store to find out that my hard drive was bad and it would cost me over $200 to replace it, I searched online to find a cheaper solution. After finding a better hard drive for only $45 on ebay, I found the replacement guide on iFixit that looked great. I didn't have any of the tools to do the surgery though, so I decided to purchase this 54-bit driver kit.

Mijn oplossing

The repair was the like the easiest thing I've ever done. This toolkit made it so smooth I couldn't believe it only took me 10 minutes to get the whole computer apart and back together. I also purchased a 2nd copy of the hard drive to replace the smaller hard drive in my wife's 15" macbook pro. I can't believe the apple store wanted to charge me so much money for such a simple replacement!

If you are thinking of doing any repairs or replacements on any electronics, buy this kit! It seriously made me feel like a professional repair tech because of how easy it was. Also, never pay for apple to replace anything on your computer unless you absolutely can't do it yourself. It will save you so much money doing it on your own and you will learn more about your computer.
