Both fans of my laptop started doing several noises often, until one day the left fan didn't stop doing a loud noise similar to a running bike when it isn't pedaled.

I decided to open my laptop and clean it properly, not only the left fan, but also all the laptop. Once I finished, I run the laptop again, but my problem wasn't solved.

I looked online for any solution and I found iFixit. Best website ever! First of all I tried to repair my fans, but they got worse. Their bearings were broken and nothing could be done. I tried to file down the fan cases in order to see if the noises were made by the fan blades scratching the cases. This operation ended with the right fan doing a noise that reminded me to a chainsaw cutting an iron plate.

There was nothing left to try but replacing the fans. So I ordered them.

Great! I followed the guides and in less than 15 minutes my laptop was running perfectly.

Do not hesitate in trying to repair your device. Do not resign yourself to buy a new device or to accept the outrageous cost that the official repair department impose you.

Try to repair it by yourself. Take a look to the guides that are already written, test your device, be sure of what the problem is, order the components if necessary and get on with it. I'm sure it'll be easy, fun and cheap!
