What a breeze to Repair!

Mijn probleem

I had a battery go bad and it expanded inside the phone. I had a Griffin case to protect the iPhone 4. So I didn't notice that the battery had gone bad because of the case. When I removed the case, within a day the back panel of the iPhone was start to separate from the phone. It went from an 1/8" of of separation to almost 3/8". I then carefully separated the back glass from the phone and cut the battery ribbon cable and removed the battery for fear it would explode and ruin the iPhone. (Please remember that I didn't have the special screwdriver for the special screws that Apple put in the phone. So I could not open the phone. By the way I do now, thanks to Ifixit.) I then ordered a new battery, back panel with liberator kit.

The repair was such a BREEZE! I first went online and watched the YouTube video that Ifixit had posted. Then I did the repairs. It took all of about 5 minutes to complete the whole process! Thank you, Ifixit!

Mijn advies

If you watch the online video that Ifixit has posted, just after you order your parts from them. Then when your parts arrive, watch the video again to refresh what your eyes and mind has seen. Then do the repair! It will be a BREEZE! It is not that hard for anyone to do! The only issue you may have is that the screws that are used by Apple are very small. If you have big hand it may be a slight issue but the screwdriver was magnetized to the screw stay on the shaft if it slipped off the tip. If you are a little older (like me) then seeing things might be a little challenge, but I just remove my glass and I had no problem at all! So here is the bottom line! If you are a little mechanically inclined and want to same some money buy the parts you need from Ifixit. Then do the repairs yourself. This repair cost me $50.
