A very easy repair, way cheaper and convenient than going with Apple

Mijn probleem

The battery was losing it's capacity quickly, it was tough to keep a charge in it for more than a day and a half. After 2.5 years of service, I needed a new one.

Mijn oplossing

It went very well. The video at iFixit was very clear and concise, and everything went well and as planned. The screwdriver for the pentalobe screws worked as advertised. In fact, it worked so well I could have reused the pentalobe screws if I wanted to, no stripping occured. But, well, since I had the conversion kit, why reinstall not standard screws? I went with the standard and the pentalobe went away. Screw your pentalobes Apple!

Mijn advies

The battery was glued to the casing, but the glue was not that hard to break. I used the plastic prying tool, and all went well. You should mention on your video that after changing the battery, the iphone won't boot at all, and that you need to recharge the battery to at least 5% charge to be able to boot the phone at all. At first I doubted I connected the battery correctly, and I redisconnected everything and reconnected it, just to make sure. Also, you should mention that the battery comes with 0% charge, so a charge is mandatory after installation. Thanks iFixit!
