Battery replacement MacBookPro 15" (early 2011).

Mijn probleem

Battery suddenly died. That was much too soon, after only 320 cycles, rather than promised >1000+ cycles. Apple in the Netherlands wouldn't help me whatsoever ('come over to Amsterdam (2 hour trip) and we'll see what we can do – could take up to two weeks to get your laptop back'). Decided to try iFixit, and loved it.

Mijn oplossing

Got the package extemely rapidly (<72 hours delivery from the US to The Netherlands!). Replaced it in <15 minutes. Dead easy, quite risk free, I'd say. Battery had only 4 cycles on it, i.e., was nearly brand new. Excellent. Thanks enormously, iFixit.

Mijn advies

Advice to users: get the various screwdrivers that you're advised to get. Yoiu'll be able to do without the spudger, tho.

Advice to iFixit: If FedEx allows, consider using smaller box to send stuff in – this one was about 10% full, which seems wasteful. I'd love to sell you my previous macbook and powermac (if considered of any use), but your 'sell' section of the website (ifixit.com/sell) is broken. And has been for a while. Consider fixing that.
