Worth the money!!!

Mijn probleem

My ps3 wasn't struck with the yellow light of death, but it was close. It had all the symptoms of a looming system failure. The cooling fan would get really loud and the system would get hot to the touch. I came in spurts, but the more i played it, the worse it got. It got to the point that i could only play about 20 minutes and it would pop up with an alert telling me the system was overheated and needed to be shut down. I, like everyone else, didn't want to shell out the money for a new ps3 or have to start over with a new one. Ive had mine for 3+ years and it never had a thing wrong with it till the over heating problems. So I did some research and the only thing I could come up with was that my thermal paste was gone or at least gone to the point it was no longer effective. So i went the cheap route first, worst that could happen was I was going to have to get a new ps3. I came across this site that had the repair kit, at first I was reluctant at the price because it was a little more than i anticipated. But when I got the alerts on my ps3 of overheating problems, I knew the ps3 was on borrowed time. So I bit the bullet so to speak and purchased the kit and I'm so glad I did.

Mijn oplossing

Repair went smooth, guides were self explanatory and I saved my ps3. The worst part about the repair is waiting for the paste to dry. It does take a while, but if it saves your ps3, like it did mine, its worth the wait. Once I got everything back together, I turned it on and I haven't heard the fan rev up once. Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, I left it on all day and when I got home from work I did some heavy duty gaming and it kept quiet, never once got loud. I touched it and it was warm, but no where near the temperature it had been. That was when I knew I had fixed my problem.
