My MacBook had a faulty screen. It would go black when I tilt it all the way back. After a bit of searching in Google the diagnostics was the inverter cable. I ordered inverter cable and spludger tool from you. While I was waiting for the parts to be delivered, I was at the Apple store to buy an iPad. When there, I also asked them what they reckon the problem was with my MacBook. They agreed that it could be a faulty inverter cable or an inverter board. They said, they would do the repair for free (because of quality program) as long as I pay for the parts. I agreed as their price for an inverter cable was only $6.95. After three days, they said, the problem did not go away and they diagnosed it to be faulty LCD screen for which they wanted $265 + tax. I cancelled the repair order.
I was thinking of ordering an LCD screen from you, but then found that PowerBookMedic sells a matte finish LCD for the same price. I always wanted a matte finish screen and ordered it from them for next day delivery.
I followed your manual step by step, with the help of my wife and after 6 hours of painstaking effort I managed to replace the LCD screen successfully. It looks great.
Mijn advies
I know iFixIt parts are little pricey, but I am not complaining as I understand the extra money is helping to make those great manuals that you have on your website.
