Changed my iPod classic battery

My iPod classic wasn't able to play videos for more than 30 minutes. It would play for about 25 minutes before prompting to charge battery because it drained completely. I bought a new battery from Ifixit.com and changed it myself.

The most difficult part of changing the battery was opening the iPod. Even though I watched videos and read articles on opening the iPod, it took me at least an hour to open my iPod. The actual changing of the battery was easy and took maybe 5 minutes. It was basically unplug the old battery and plug in the new one and snap the iPod back together. My iPod works perfectly now. I did damage one side of my iPod when trying to open it. The damage I caused is only cosmetic and did not affect the iPod's functions.

The next time I need to change the battery I would probably try using putty knives to open the iPod. I didn't find the plastic tools very helpful and even broke the tools trying to open my iPod. I would buy another battery from Ifixit.com because it's easy to find the correct battery. Make sure you know the serial number of your iPod and find the correct battery. Before buying a battery from Ifixit.com, I bought a battery off of Ebay. The Ebay battery and the one from Ifixit look almost identical, but had different mAh. The Ebay battery didn't work. Double check that you have the correct battery.
