My Macbook suddenly decided that it didn't want to run off of electricity. The battery didn't want to charge. I tried replacing the power cord (the old one was starting to fray) in hopes that was the issue. But, no. That would have been too easy.
After doing some research online I figured out that my MagSafe DC-In Board was the most likely culprit. I ordered my parts and they came in before schedule. Mind you, I'm not a techie, I never cracked open my laptop to look at its innards. But I follow directions well, and I'm good at figuring things out. I took a deep breath and opened the guide. My God! The directions were so clear. An hour and a half later (I had to seriously clean the inside) and a small sacrifice to the computer gods, it was time to power her up. She powered up, started charging the battery and I was back in business! Thank you so much, Ifixit!
A plastic ice cube tray works wonders for holding the loose screws. Each step had its own compartment and it made my life much easier. Also putting the cats in the spare room helped immensely.
