Mijn probleem
The power button on my iPhone 5 was not functioning properly. It was becoming harder and harder to successfully activate it.
Mijn oplossing
It went well. The guide was good for disassembling the device to a point where I could get the cable out, but there wasn't good information regarding how to detach the mounting components for the volume buttons and ringer switch. I was able to get these off and moved to the new cable, but I don't think that the ringer switch came out of the experience in the best condition.
The mute switch was the most difficult to disconnect as it had an adhesive pad and some plastic "pins" holding it to the metal ringer switch bracket.
The volume buttons attach to their bracket by a simple adhesive that was pretty easy to navigate and align.
Mijn advies
This was a really challenging component to replace. I had previously replaced the power cable assembly in an iPhone 4, which was difficult, but the iPhone 5 model is much more difficult to replace. Be prepared to spend some time with this!
