My Hard Drive Replacement

On my college son's MAC Book Pro the hard drive crashed, it was 3 years old and I didn't have a warranty. I have a friend that is a total Mac geek and he did all the diagnostics for me and discovered that the hard drive was toast. He recommended ifixit.com. So that's where I ordered my part from.

Mijn oplossing

I ordered the hard drive kit, because I knew I wouldn't have any of the right tools. I opted for the standard shipping. I could wait. It actually arrived a day before the shortest delivery date. Awesome!

I had my iPad right there with the step by step instructions and it took me about 10 minutes to remove the damaged one and replace the new one. I can't remember when anything went so smoothly. I have already been recommending ifixit.com to all my friends.

Mijn advies

Back up your data. My 20 year old son didn't do any of this so he lost all of the pictures and his homework he had on there. :-(

I'm just hoping he has learned his lesson. Because dorm rooms are not the best environment for laptops.
