Second time's a charm!

I was working outside and decided to put on a Pandora station to lighten the work load, and of course the surface I set my iPhone on was not quite level. She slid off and hit that oh-so-sweet spot that caused the display assembly to spider-web.

Mijn oplossing

Overall, after watching several videos and reading the iFixit guide, the repair process was no problem at all. The teeny tiny screws and pieces made me feel like a giant, but once I had my bearings, I was very comfortable working on the phone. As I removed screws, grounding clips or components, I set them aside in order so when I was working backwards through the steps, I just went from component to component.

Mijn advies

MAKE SURE THE NEW DIGITIZER CABLE IS FED THROUGH THE FRAME COMPLETELY WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW DISPLAY, WITH NO PINCHES, KINKS OR BENDS (or tears!!!).

I cannot stress this enough. If you damage this, you'll lose the functionality of the touch screen. (And feel like an idiot for telling the guy at the Apple store to pound sand down a rat hole when he tried to sell you a replacement phone.)

Take your time. These are very delicate components and need to be treated as such. (Also, you don't want to have to order another display assembly because you were rushing, DO YOU?)

Keep pieces you remove from your phone in order.
