Mijn probleem
At a repair service in Denmark it was diagnosed that the harddrive was the reason why the newly installed OSX Snowleopard wouldn't load.
The offer for a repair where issued by the repair service and amounted to kr. 2500,- (= 500$). And that was if everything went smooth - they said.
Calling a harddrive retailer in Denmark - he adviced me to go to iFixit in the US on the net - as they didn't have the harddrive for a MacBook.
Found a harddrive on iFixit - instead of the present 120 GB drive in the MacBook - I chose a 500 GB to 127$ freight to Denmark included.
The package came three days later :-)
Mijn oplossing
Having seen the repair guide - I couldn't believe it was so easy - even my 13 year old daughter would have been able to do it.
10 minutes later - the harddrive was changed - it went so quick I even didn't remember to take photos.
I saved 373$ in 10 minutes - Nice hourly salary!!!!
Please note this is Denmark, Europe - everything cost 2-3 times as much as in the US - go to our Apple store in DK - you won't believe it!!!
I will recommend iFixit to everyone.
Mijn advies
No advice - just go ahead. One thing though - I wrecked the round "battery-unschrew-thing" - but my daughter taped it back on :-)
