Mijn probleem

Wife's Macbook Air A1369, despite being pretty new, stopped taking charge off the magsafe connector reliably, unless you pushed firmly on the connector and wiggled it like a fool for several minutes. After trying a couple different Magsafe power supplies, I decided it was the "charge controller," or in this case, the Macbook Air IO board. Origin of malfunction is unknown.

Mijn oplossing

Repair was easy, uneventful, and was all zipped up inside of 15 minutes, thanks to practice (this wasn't my first rodeo with the Macbook Air) and the iFixit tools.

Mijn advies

While waiting for your part to arrive, open up the Macbook Air and get the bad IO board in your hand, then put it back and reassemble. This way you'll (hopefully) know what you're doing when the part arrives and your wife will think you're some kind of wizard for only taking 15 minutes to perform Macbook Air surgery. Shorter surgical times are helpful in this household as they reduce the window of opportunity for a happy dog or cat to come zipping across your work surface and scattering all those screws. Come to think of it, also buy a can of duster to blow all the pet hair and dander out of the Macbook when you've got it open (or use the iFixit dust blower and brushes of course).
