Mijn probleem

I got a Crucial M4 SSD for Christmas, and I wanted to install it into my Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. I didn't really use the optical drive anyways...

Mijn oplossing

It was pretty easy, though I had to drive out and buy some Torx screwdrivers to take out the screws connecting the optical drive to the chassis. I'd definitely recommend making sure you have all the right tools first - otherwise you've gotta put the whole thing back together and go buy them!

Mijn advies

Buyers be warned! The Crucial M4 SSD (I have the 64GB version) doesn't play nice with this enclosure. I originally bought the enclosure so that I could use my Crucial M4 as a boot drive, but I had lots of issues even getting my laptop to recognize that there was an SSD inside of it (and even then, it wouldn't format, or it would, but it wouldn't let me put more than 300 KB of files on there... it was stressful!)

My solution: just swap the drives around! I put my MacBook's original drive in the enclosure and replaced it in its original spot with the Crucial M4. Everything works like a charm - thanks, iFixit!
