Glass of Coca Cola all over the keyboard :-(

Mijn probleem

Well, as the title shows... Coke all over the keyboard...laptop went crazy..ofcourse :-}..immediately unplugged the power, the battery was not attached, happy about that...

Mijn oplossing

Before removing all kind of screws i looked up for guides on the internet, iFixit provided in that, well done guys! Youtube has some too!!Very carefull i followed the instuctions...and got the keyboard out... almost all cola stayed between the plastic layers beneath the keyboard so I guessed there was no further damage and ordered the keyboard at IFixit. I placed the order tuesday afternoon (GMT+1, the Netherlands!) and wholy moly...UPC delivered it thursday, end of the morning, 9059km or allmost 5630miles(in one direkt line) in less then 48hours!!! My sincere compliments!! To prove it i will attach a screenprint. Apple and more apple related shops in the Netherlands couldn't help me...sorry sir, the laptop is over six yrs old and then we have no more spareparts in stock...yaghhh.. One store could help me but charged for one and a half times the price iFixit charged...yaghhh again.. Anyway...the keyboard arrived...and i was eager(gready is a better word) to know if i should succeed...very careful and gentle i placed it in and piece for piece i put everything back in place and screwed all screws in.... wired it into the outlet and opened the laptop...and hit the ON button....screen lighted on...YES...programs were loading..YES...tested some programs...connected to the internet...YES.. everything is working again.. SMILE :-) No explosions and no rogue raven flighing by... Job Done! Greetzz Frans Kolijn, the Netherlands

My advice will be...be patient, read the guide(s) carefully and help urself with writing things down to remember which screw or wire or connector belongs where. Some hail marys and our fathers may help depending what you believe in.. :-) Good Luck!!
