Mijn probleem
Got the yellow light of death after having the original release PS3 for almost 6 years. Followed the instructions and it is working as of now. According to other reviews, if it should fail again all I need to do is repeat the process and be more thorough heating the board to re-flow the solder.
Mijn oplossing
Ended up assembling the PS3 and having one left over screw, whoops. But there are so many screws that it shouldn't matter. The only difficulty in this operation is knowing what goes where and the order to remove things. Also, some of the ribbon cables can be difficult to reassemble.
Mijn advies
Putting it back together is the hardest part, set aside parts and their screws in an order and work backwards.
