Mijn probleem
Power supply failure. My first computer. Bought used. Cost prohibited having someone else repair. After reviewing the ifixit repair manual, I thought, I can fix this, I think!!!
Mijn oplossing
Repair went great!! Followed step by step inst. manual.
Next is replacement of my failing hard drive. Hasn't failed yet!!
No problem!! Have already downloaded manual from ifixit.
Mijn advies
A T10 magnetic long tip torx tip would have been helpful for removing and installing display screws. I used peanut butter on end of torx bit for small screw installation. Works!!
A bright headlamp is helpful.
Labeled (with step# and screw purpose ie.."display screws") zip lock sandwich bags for putting screw into as they are removed
truly helped with reassembly. No guess work "where did this screw come from".
Hemostats, get a pair, very helpful for disconnecting:
a)inverter cable connectors
b)hard drive thermal sensor cable connector
c)power supply "in put" cable connector
Display "EMI" tape, instructions:peel it back off display, yeah right! I cut with razor knife. Then used strips of "foil tape" when reinstalling display.
