Mijn probleem
We purchased an iPhone 4 replacement phone when my wife cracked her screen on her out of warranty iPhone 4. Less than one year later the phone battery would not hold a charge for an hour. Normally I have always had good luck with Apple standing behind their products. This was clearly a defective part. This time they said that all they could do was offer a replacement battery service for $99.
At that point I knew I needed to take matters into my own hands. I remember reading about ifixit on all of the tech blogs and decided to research the repair myself. I like to fix things anyway so this was a great reason to crack open my wife's iPhone.
Mijn oplossing
Repair went as smooth as can be. After I watched the tutorial and read a couple of other peoples reviews of the replacement I knew that this was going to be no problem to tackle myself. I ordered the battery. Just a few days later, when the replacement battery arrived, I had the phone apart, old battery out, new battery installed and phone back together in under 5 minutes. The iPhone is as good as new. Thanks ifixit!
Mijn advies
Make sure that you have somewhere to put the microscopic screws while performing the repair. Those things could get lost really quickly if you don't know exactly where they are.
