How to fix the annoying Home button - and break other stuff in the process!

The home button on my iPhone has always needed a double click or a gorilla mash to make it work. It annoyed me to the point that I gave it to my fiance. She didn't believe me when I said that's the way the home button was supposed to work, so I was forced to fix it.

Mijn oplossing

The iFixit guide was incredibly helpful during this fix. It was spot - on. I, however, was not! Just a word of advice: before you go digging around in the guts of a jam packed phone full of screws the size of a grain of sand DO NOT DRINK A DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO!

In my haste to get it back together, I didn't notice the digitizer cable for the screen was doubled over on itself and it broke when I sandwiched the phone back together. Sigh. Made the order and finished it up last night.

Who cares which screw goes where. It doesn't really matter if you stick the battery back down - WHATEVER YOU DO, watch those pesky ribbon cables on the front panel! They'll cost you a pretty penny if you screw it up.
