Mijn probleem
I love Nintendo so I was heartbroken when I learned my nephews Switch was broken; very broken. The screen had no backlight, the fan wouldn’t spin, the controllers wouldn’t connect wirelessly AND orange juice was recently spilled on it AND the left controller had severe stick drift.
Mijn oplossing
This was my first repair ever, I figured I’d open up this abused device just to see what I could learn; after all what was there to lose? To make this story short I fixed all of the problems; I replaced the LCD and the fan unit, reattached the the antenna cable so now the controllers connect, and meticulously cleaned the liquid residue. I also fixed the stick drift issue by prying the analog open and cleaning the sensors. My nephew has been playing the binding of Isaac every day since I gave his switch back to him.
Mijn advies
I learned a lot from this repair as it was my first one, my advice to anyone about to do a repair for the first time is to check any ribbon cable connectors for a locking tab before pulling any cables. They are hard to see sometimes and can be chipped easily.
