I was running out of room on my hard drive for music and video so I wanted to upgrade the internal hard drive.
I read several of the guides, most of them are detailed enough for just about anybody to be able to follow. I found that my particular iMac wasn't covered but the details were close enough that I could still open the computer up and make a decision if I felt I could do the project. As I am typing this story on the iMac, it obviously worked. Your site, and the guides gave me the confidence to give it a try. THANK you, you guys saved me a bundle on parts and of course labor.
I read as much as I could then read some more. Once I was feeling confident, I bought the tools and parts I felt I might need. I found I didn't need all the tools I thought I might. (It's all good, you can never have enough tools).
I opened up the iMac and took a look inside, it didn't look as daunting as I expected so I dove into it and removed the hard disk. I think what made my install the least problematic was PREPARATION. I formatted and copied the hard drive before installing, bought the tools I might need, and read all the instructions. Good luck and dive in.
