Procedure worked but incorrect instructions about feet for my model.
Mijn probleem
The rubber feet on my unit didn't come off easily. I tried a heat gun but the 2 of the 4 feet were destroyed in the process. The instructions didn't provide any hints on what to do to remove the feet.
Note: In my case the feet didn't have any screws under them so I probably didn't need to remove them.
Mijn oplossing
Overall it was a success, but 2 out of the 4 rubber feet were destroyed in the process. I found a replacement back panel on Amazon for $20 so that should take care of it.
Mijn advies
Try removing the back panel without removing the feet first, if that doesn't work then you may have a model that has the screws under the feet.
Note: The model I have was a: HP SPECTRE X360 - 13T-4000 CTO (ENERGY STAR)
