MBP HD replacement was a breeze!

Mijn probleem

My MBP's HD was on the fritz after 4 years of use with very little downtime. I spoke to Apple and they were going to charge me ~$400 (!!) for replacing the 120 GB HD, since the computer is no longer under warranty. I first became aware of this site through an iFixit YouTube video, which led me to the site. I purchased a 750GB HD replacement kit and did it myself, for a fraction of the price Apple quoted me!!!

It was super easy! The instructions are spot on!. I however, could not access the original Youtube video from the ifixit site (or maybe it is there and I could not find it!) I used both the guides and the youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_qQrL2SG...). It worked perfectly. Thanks!!!

Mijn advies

I did not have a place to neatly separate the screws (as the person in the video does). Instead I placed them in separate groups on a surface. It wasn't a problem, but one needs to keep an eye so that they don't mix. A way to separate the screws is a good idea and I recommend doing it (either keep them in different glasses, plates, etc.).
