Mijn probleem
Similar to the situation with my iPhone 5s of roughly equal age, the battery began to swell slightly, causing the digitizer to slightly lift away from the case along one edge.

The instructions are thorough and explicit--the repair would be impossible without them. The battery replacement was a complete success.
Mijn advies
The most important thing is to take your time. Apply and reapply heat as needed to soften the adhesive (I used a heat gun but the iOpener is also a great way to go), and make sure you label all the screws with the step numbers to simplify reassembly. Be patient and careful, and you will be rewarded with a successful repair.
