Mijn probleem

I replaced the battery after about 5 years of use. The original battery would no longer hold an adequate charge.

Mijn oplossing

The repair went well. Unfortunately all the computer's parts must be removed to get the original battery out.

The major problem I ran into came after the repair. iFixit's replacement battery has a tape adhesive attached to all the battery cells. This tape adhesive soon came apart from the batteries, leaving the cells to flop around in the laptop's body. The problem was definitely with iFixit's adhesive because the adhesive remained attached to the laptop body, but separated from the cells.

I ended up having to use this adhesive to keep all the cells in place. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OXV...

Mijn advies

Use your own adhesive to hold the cells in place or else they will soon be bouncing around in your laptop.

You don't need iFixit's adhesive remover, just use acetone with a thin-tipped syringe. And some throw away credit cards can help in the battery removal process.
