Swollen Mac book pro battery

Mijn probleem

Battery swelling was causing Mac book pro casing to warp. Lid would not close completely. If allowed to go on battery was going to do something bad.

Mijn oplossing

Only hard part was removing glued in battery. Fortunately, the overheated battery caused much of the adhesive to soften. Got 2/3 of the battery pried loose before having to use supplied adhesive solvent to finish the removal.

Bracket on replacement battery did not fit flush with screw hole on Mac book casing.

So the single securing screw would not reinstall properly. Since there’s very little wiggle room this should not be a problem.

Mijn advies

If your battery is warm, it will make its removal very easy! The hotter, the better!

Also, expect to vacuum and blow accumulated dust out of the exposed assembly.
