Mijn probleem
My screen had shattered after it flew out of my pocket while running. I had AppleCare+ on the device, but wasn’t anywhere near an Apple store. I chose to wait till I made a trip near one. Unfortunately, the care expired before I could visit. iFixit was the first place I went. I’ve done these repairs 2-3 times before, but hadn’t had quite as smooth an experience.
Mijn oplossing
The repair went great. The sticky pull tabs in the battery made removal a breeze. Unfortunately the time that the screen was shattered allowed for dust to get inside through the gaping holes. All the components inside where coated. I useded a soft bristled toothbrush to remove it. I didn’t have canned air available, so I used a 60ml syringe I had to shoot quick burst of air into the cracks to make sure debris blew out completely. It was well concentrated, fairly high pressured, and dry, unlike the air you might blow from your lungs if you got desperate.
Mijn advies
Maybe add some sort of adhesive to the battery replacement pack, just to keep from sliding. Apple pretty well cements theirs in place, so some sort of adhesive couldn’t hurt.
