Mijn probleem

Having to charge my phone multiple times a day was a big pain. Getting a new battery is much cheaper than getting a new phone, so we'll see how long this five-year-old phone can hold out!

Mijn oplossing

Repair went well, although we had some problems with the pentagonal screw driver that came with the kit. It just didn't seem to fit. Instead I used an X-Acto knife that had a blunt tip. It did the job getting the external screws off.

We had an unexpected problem with the screen. When prying the screen off the back of the phone the glass came apart from the screen frame. I had to be very careful to pull up the entire screen with the glass and frame, rather than just pulling up the glass. It worked out fine eventually, although a few specs of dust got caught between.

Mijn advies

You can see from the photo that we secured the open phone into an "L" shaped book end. This allowed us to remove the battery without going through the trouble of separating the screen from the case. Worked great.
