Mijn probleem

My 5S is my work iPhone, and only had 32% of the capacity left on the original battery. I use a 7 for personal use, which the two are synced over the same wireless network.

Mijn oplossing

Repair went fine. Just a quick note, when putting the screen back on, slide the top (speaker) side of the screen into the frame, then push down on the side and bottom tabs. The top plastic tabs are not meant to be pulled up or pushed down on, rather slid in and out of position. I broke two of these tabs by trying to force it down into the frame. That is a no-no.

Mijn advies

See above with the tabs. Also, create a backup in iTunes before doing this project, see below.

WARNING: If you have another iPhone and the two are synced together (settings, calls, etc) over the same wireless network, SHUT THE GOOD PHONE OFF. Your repaired phone will have the "Searching" error due to a replaced component, and the solution is to manually change the date, do a network reset, and hard reset the phone. However, if your good phone is on during the initial start up of your repaired phone, the good phone will force a time change on your repaired phone due to a difference in settings, and you will be SOL with fixing the "Searching" bug quickly, as the date has already been changed automatically. My solution was to connect to iTunes from a powered off state (holding the "Home" button and connecting to USB, starting up iTunes), and force an update that I had waiting. The other solution is to restore to a previous backup on iTunes. This will eliminate the "Searching" bug, and your phone will function again.
