Mijn probleem

The phone was being charged once a day, loading thru 3G and wifi was slow and Apple said they were responsible. The phone was also two years old. Also, I like challenges.

Mijn oplossing

Very straightforward instructions on the video with the expressive pretty girl doing the repair. I watched, paused the video, used my proper tools to execute each maneuver and then started the vid again.

Going backwards was a little more dicey. Going slower and thinking about what goes next was key.

All the included tools, adhesive and two new assembly screws made the whole process much easier.

I also read comments by previous assemblers tutored by iFixit and followed their advice. VERY helpful!

Mijn advies

Oh yes, I have advice. I am 81 years old and not daunted by working w. small parts.

Removing the adhesive strips holding the battery and having the ends break off during removal was a little puzzling. I am not used to working with adhesive that releases when it is stretched. I did latch on to a small remnant of the white adhesive under the old battery and roll it around the tip of tweezers and then pull and remove one, then the other this way.

It would help to apply the new adhesive to the underside of the new battery replacement before placing it back into the cavity in the phone.
