Mijn probleem

Since three months, my Macbook Pro (mid 2010) started to make weird noises. It was like if you throw a piece of metal in a fan non stop. I really thought something was broken inside. The sound came from the left side of my Macbook pro. I deleted the Ram, I closed my Macbook pro for hours, I reset the SMC and PRAM, I also put (Icepack) underneath but I figured out there was an overheat problem. . I run Logic Pro X / Photoshop/ Final Cut Pro X / AE/ Serato. I use big softwares and the sound was really annoying. Even if I was able to use those DAW I knew my Macbook was on his way to crash.. I wasn't able to use my Macbook on my knees because I knew the sound was coming up.

Mijn oplossing

I did some research on "google" and I saw "Ifixit". I was in a doubt but anyway what could I do else than contact Apple store and throw my money? So I saw tutorials on Ifixit, it looks easy. I bought the fans and the repair tools. It cost me 125.00$. I was stressed. The shipping took 2 days (I'm in Montreal, Canada). It was really fast! The products was professionnaly sealed, better than I expected. So it's easy I removed 10 screws underneath the Macbook pro case and three screw of the fan. The worst part of the process is when you need to remove the connector to the logic board. Many people fail that part which can cost you much more in consequence. I bought the spunger which helped me a lot! But I don't lie. It's a surgical operation. I'm not kidding. You need to be really, really, really carefull. A millimeter up you break the connector, a millimeter down, you break the welded part on the logic board so you need to weld it on the logic board or buy a new logic board. My advice, take a really good lamp and put it in an horizontal angle so you can see where you must lift the connector. ** TIPS ** Keep the spunger (Or any other tool, if you don't have it) right where the cables are. That way you will lift the cables and the connector easily. Stay where where the cable are and try to go underneath the connector. Don't make pressure. Just keep in mind it's like you caress the wing of a fly and push up (not down). If you do it perfectly than you'll see that connector pop up. You clean (after 7years, my Macbook has many hair) when you replace the new fan just push on the connector and don't push too much pressure. You should compare on the other fan just to be sure it really is conected. Here we go! You finaly have a brand new Macbook pro like I did! It's been 7 years and I can still use it really smoothly and perfectly!
