Attempted fix for an iPhone 4, iPhone5 and Mac Mini (2014)

Mijn probleem

The iPhone5 was behaving oddly but primarily was loosing it's ability to hold a charge. So a battery replacement seemed like a good thing to try. The iphone4 battery was also not keeping a charge but other than that, it was working fine as an iPod substitute

Mijn oplossing

IPhone5 Failed. After replacement the phone failed to boot or even light up. So maybe it wasn't the battery? In any case the next step was a new iPhoneSE for $235 on an AT&T 'deal'.

IPhone4 battery replacement went very smoothly... easier than I'd have thought it would be.

The 2014 Mac Mini failed suddenly on boot and after trying all the keyboard and power button combinations, I thought to get inside and look around. To that end the Torex#6 security driver was necessary... and worked great. Sadly taking the mini apart didn't reveal or solve anything. Possibly a failed logic board? Fix was a new/used pre-2012 mini with replaceable memory and easily accessed HD. Maybe in a couple years when the price on logic board on trailing edger minis drop, I'll revisit replacing the board and/or the power supply

Mijn advies

The Mini teardown left off a couple steps... one for two screws holding down the logic board and one for unlocking the power supply. Both of those steps are in the HD replacement guide however and I was able to go back and figure that out. The missing steps in the teardown happen where an addendum to the teardown was insterted about possibly adding a second HD. Maybe the missing steps were accidentally cut out?
