Soy sauce spill on MacBook
Mijn probleem
So I was eating some sushi on my laptop and as I opened the soy sauce packet it started squirt down on my hand which got all over my trackpad. I wiped the track pad with alcohol wipes and it was working fine until the next day. The trackpad was stuck and I couldn't click on anything and the motion sensors were very laggy. I went to the Apple Store to see if they could repair it and the Genius guy told me I had to replace the trackpad, battery, and logic board and the laptop had to be sent to the manufacture which would come out to 1,200 dollars; not including tax. Might as well by a new laptop right, but I didn't have the money so I said &&^& it I'm gonna do it myself.
Mijn oplossing
The repairs went pretty well. I was overwhelmed a bit because I had never worked on a computer and the Notion that apple products are complicated and delicate. But yeah I replaced the battery and the trackpad but not the logic board. I didn't see any type of corrosion on the logic board or anything but to be safe I brushed some 90% isopropyl alcohol and use an air compressor to let it dry.
Mijn advies
My advice is that if there any problems with your laptop is to take it to the Apple Store and see the diagnosis. Also after you repair it take the product to the Apple Store and do another diagnosis to see if everything is working properly, but don't tell them you have worked on it.
